our first Christmas

It's so hard to believe that Christmas is just a few days away... and the new year is around the corner from that. I know everyone says it this time of year... but where did the time go?!

Anyways... since most of you won't get to see my feeble attempts at decorating this year, I thought I would post a few pictures.

the stockings were hung by the wine bar with care,

in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there...

...Merry Christmas to all,

and to all a good night!

Our best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and good fortune in the New Year go out to you all.  Happy Holidays, friends!!

PROUD TO BE A DEMON DEACON!

As most of you know already, I am a HUGE (understatement!) Wake Forest fan, and am converting my dear Noah into one as well. GO DEACS!
We've made it to every home game so far this year - some only half games because of concerts, but we cheered loud enough while we were there to make up for it!

This past weekend was Homecoming - one of my favorite times of the fall!  It's always so great to see everyone, catch up on all the changes in our lives, and remember all the awesome memories we shared.  And the more of these Homecomings I'm at, the faster the years go by and the more I am grateful to have friends who are always friends - whether you see them once a year or once a week.  And for that, I wouldn't trade anything in the world.

three months ago today...

...we were happily enjoying out honeymoon in beautiful Quebec City!  The food was delicious, views of the old city were remarkable, weather was cool, fireworks were amazing, and time too quickly passed us by.  Here are a few photos from our journey...

happy 400th anniversary Quebec!

(and yes, that is a waterfall complete with kayakers)

Merci beaucoup, Quebec!

Hello

My turn for a welcome - Hi everyone and welcome to our life! It's a bit crazy and always hectic, but definitely entertaining. For example, here's a bit of what's been going on recently.

Last week I played 4 kids concerts with the Greensboro Symphony.
This past Saturday, Cat and I both played a kids show with the Winston Salem Symphony (on one rehearsal - yikes).
After the concert, we came home and painted the living room.
On Sunday morning we decided to put a second coat on the living room, but ran out of paint...
I had a Greensboro Symphony rehearsal on Sunday night and I've had rehearsals every night, preparing for concerts this Thursday and Saturday.
Cat went home to Four Oaks on Sunday night and spent a couple days visiting the fam.
On Tuesday, Cat went to UNC Chapel Hill to meet the musicology faculty as she's considering applying for their PhD program - they kept her busy from 9am-4pm (that's a lot of music-nerd talk).
Cat got home Tuesday night and immediately headed to school to prepare a presentation for her music theory class, which she gave this morning.

Whew, and that's all in the last week! We still haven't had a chance to get more paint for the living room so all of our furniture is piled in the middle of the room with plastic tarps over it - very stylish, eh?

Life's pretty crazy, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Here we go...

Greetings friends and family!
Well... we're finally getting settled down enough to actually have time to post our own blog - and here it is.  We hope you'll check in with us often - and we'll try to post frequently with all the goings-on in our busy lives.  Best wishes and lots of love to you all!  ~cat
